504 labor-related complaints recorded in Irbid in 2026-Official

Irbid, July 14 (Petra) -Spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor, Mohammad Zyoud, said Irbid Labor Directorate has received 504 labor-related complaints since the beginning of this year.

Zyoud announced these cases were handled, in accordance with applicable legal procedures, aimed to protect rights of all parties involved in the employment process.

Zyoud, in remarks to "Petra," noted the ministry's inspection teams have conducted 6,240 inspection visits since the beginning of the year, covering 2,306 economic establishments across various sectors in the northern Irbid governorate.

During these visits, Zyoud said 359 violations were recorded against establishments found to be in non-compliance with the provisions of the Labor Law.

He noted the ministry receives complaints electronically through "Himaya (protection) platform.

As for the settlement procedures, he said as each case is reviewed, and the relevant parties are contacted to resolve it amicably, citing visits as a solution to settle the dispute in other cases.

He stated most complaints sent to "Himaya" platform dealt with non-payment or delayed wage payment, claims for workers' benefits, violations for working hours and leave, while other grievances addressed application of labor law provisions.

He said the key violations detected during inspection tours include non-compliance with occupational safety and health requirements, and non-payment or delayed wage payment.
